WW Update

May 12th, 2008

Since I started Weight Watchers five weeks ago, I have lost 9.8 pounds!  I’m sure that when I go back this weekend, I will have passed the 10 pound mark. Yay!  I still have a ways to go before I meet my initial 10% goal, but I’m on the way there.

I haven’t made any huge changes in the way I eat, but small changes.  I pay attention to portion sizes now.  I don’t just grab a can of Pepsi out of the fridge when I am thirsty.

I am doing WW with a friend and every week we give each other a challenge.  Drink 64 oz of water every day, use the stairs at work, do 20 minutes of exercise 3x a week, things like that.  If one of us fails, the other gets $2.  Little did she know, but challenges like this are what works best on me. So far I’ve made it every week and she’s owed me money every week but one.  She’s almost paid me enough money to cover a meeting fee.

This weeks’ challenge?  15 minutes of exercise every day for me and logging everything eaten for her.

I need to ask for some help from my readers this week.  In the comments, please give me suggestions for fun ways to exercise that don’t involve a large cash expenditure.  By which I mean “more than $5″.  I am broke!

WW Week One

April 21st, 2008

I lost three pounds this week!  :-)

I also took the stairs at work, instead of the elevator.

I’m hoping for more weight lost this upcoming week.

My goal for the rest of the week is 64 ounces of water a day.  So, if you’re hanging out with me and I have to go to the bathroom a LOT, you know why.  *sigh*

Weight Watchers

April 18th, 2008

I have started a diet for the first time in my life.  Do you know how odd I am to be a 26-year-old woman on a diet for the first time?  I’m surprised I haven’t been locked up in a museum.

I ave a few friends who are doing Weight Watchers and what they’ve told me about the program sounds good, so I signed up on Monday.  I weighed in (eek!), sat down, and had a listen.  I’m doing this with one of my friends, so we are going to be egging each other on.

My goal is to lose 75 pounds in the next year.  Since this is going to be a big focus in my life, it may spill over into my blog.  If you don’t like it, um…nyeah to you.

I’m considering putting up a little tracker thingy that I can update every week.  What do you think?  Does anyone have any good recipes or workout tips for me?  If you have any diet tips/stories/whatever that you want to tell me and don’t want to say it in the comments for privacy reasons, email christy at angelchrys dot com.

My super-important question is:  Do you know of any good diet sodas?  Fresca is good, but I can’t drink it all the time.  Diet Pepsi tastes like ass and I just tried some funky flavored diet Dr. Pepper that was so gross I trashed it after three swallows.
